Two Bills, Chicago Blues & Jebus this week!

Hello Old Town Pub Patrons - the epicenter of Steamboat nightlife (Old Town Pub) is proud to give you this week's music lineup.  What?  Is there a new world order?  This blog post is actually coming in advance with the whole line up?  Yes sports fans (music fans), we're getting organized and giving you ample time to make your Old Town Pub downtown Steamboat plans!  

Wednesday is extended happy hour - 2 for 1 drinks, $5 nachos (6-9pm) & EARLY music with New Orleans (now Steamboat's) own Billy Franklin 7pm!

 

 

Thursday August 19 is Chicago Bluesman Maurice John Vaughn!  9pm - enjoy amazing dinner at the Old Town Pub - Cowboy prime rib anyone?  Delicious 1/2lb juicy angus burger or BBQ buffalo short ribs to name a few. Plus there are our h or blackened chicken, summer vegetable pastas and more!  Dinner is reasonably priced and music for this show is FREE!

 

A triple threat on guitar, saxophone and vocals, Maurice John Vaughn is a true blues original.  Coming out of the streets of the South side of Chicago, Vaughn was raised on Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf, black Top 40 and James Brown. Like the greats who have come before him, he has incorporated his various influences into a blues and R&B style that is completely his own.

Bill Smith Band - born in Steamboat, but coming of age in Ft Collins and now channeling MOTOWN with their Michael Jackson Tribute night.  Should be a blast - a complete original take on some MJ classics and a show NOT TO BE MISSED.  So don't beat it - just be there cause we're going to be startin' something.

The FROGS return to the Steamboat live music scene on Friday, August 13th with special guests Greyhounds (members of MOFRO) to perform @ the Old Town Pub. The Greyhounds are the organ and bass duo from MOFRO and will be kicking out the finger licking funk with the FROGS after the JJ Grey and Mofro concert at the Howelsen Hill Amphitheater. Get your dancin' shoes and come down to the Old Town Pub for a Steamboat "Get Down!!"

 The Holden Young Trio began performing shows in 2006.  After time in Boston, Nashville, Maine & New Orleans Holden Young found his musical home in Colorado.  The trio has performed consistently since their beginning and have shared the stage with with the Disco Biscuits, JJ Grey & Mofro, the Motet, Outformation, Chris Littlefield (Karl Denson's Tiny Universe), Yamn, Equaleyes, and many many of the local and regional acts in the area.  Currently, HY3 are recording new tracks and touring Colorado to California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and back again

New Master Sounds @ Old Town Pub

"Some people say the New Mastersounds are the "Meters of the UK" Maybe if the Meters were 40 years younger, fit, trim, and ready for round 2!! These guys throw down epic funk instrumentals, and do so while being better dressed AND more polite than us. Hot damn fellas, can't wait to rock the BOAT witcha!" --RocksOff NYC

The NMS are a 4 piece instrumental funk band from Leeds, UK Their shows are full of energy and keep the crowd dancing from start to finish. With super tight rhythms, groovy guitar riffs , and The sounds of the Hammond B3-- the NMS are a no miss . They recently headlined the famous Jam in The Damn ( Amsterdam that is) and will be back on Jam cruise in 2011. Just before their show at OTP they will be one of the featured bands at The High Sierra Music Fest and right after their show at OTP they will be closing out Saturday night at the ever popular All good festival in West Virgina.  Check them out. 

But beware its easy to get hooked.

 Wanna eat cupcakes and drink purple martinis and help cure Cancer?  Plus listen to some doctors moonlighting as rockstars party it up with their blend of eclectic blues?  Time to come to Old Town Pub TONIGHT - Thursday, June 24th, 2010 to support Lisa Powell's Team Bones for this summer's RELAY for LIFE benefit.  Since they're the official sponsor of birthdays - we're throwing this FUN raiser birthday style!  8pm - $7 at the door - all proceeds from the door, the cupcakes & purple martinis go to Relay for Life (and anything extra you want to throw in).

Downtown Katie Brown - MS 150 Fundraiser

Tonight - Wednesday, June 23, 2010 is the night of Downtown Katie Brown's debut as Old Town Pub's CELEBRITY - FUNraising bartender!  We're sending Katie off in style and with extra donations in her pockets for her MS 150 bike ride from West Minster to Ft Collins this weekend.  This amazingly difficult bike ride raises money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  Old Town Pub is donating 20% of our sales to Kati'e's team + all the proceeds from Katie's Sweet Tea Tini & all of her tips.  Plus we'll have live music from Todd Musselman.  The family friendly FUN raising is from 5:30pm-8:30pm.  Ignore the fact that I have July 23rd on the (adorable) poster rather than June 23.  The event is TONIGHT - June 23rd and we can't wait to see you supporting Steamboat's own Katie Brown!

Please ignore the fact that the top of this ad says these guys are starting at 10pm - they are starting EARLY EARLY EARLY at 8pm - I PROMISE!  I screwed up our ad - not the first time and probably not the last.  Kurt is ready to kill me, so here is a blog post to set the record straight.  This is an EARLY show - we've got opening music at 7pm - and the show at 8pm.  Heck - we even moved Prime Rib night to Wednesday to accommodate all the fans.  Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.  This is going to be an amazing, fun, throw back to the good ole' days kind of night with several original band members.  See you tomorrow night (Tuesday, June 15th) - come EARLY EARLY EARLY - SHOW STARTS AT 8pm!!!!!!

The farmer's market starts tomorrow too - stop in for a bloody mary or cold iced tea and delicious burgers, sandwiches and fresh yummy salads (my favorite is the jasmine with blackened chicken). Old Town Pub Treats Moms to Royal Foot Massages!

In honor of Mother's Day - Old Town Pub ran one of our favorite promotions - foot massages for the great moms of Steamboat!  All a doting son/daughter or spouse had to do was come into the Old Town Pub and fill out one of our Mother's Day ballot forms - tell us why their mom was wonderful and she would be entered to win one of four complimentary foot massages from Royal Foot Massage in Central Park Plaza.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with this place -- it's HEAVENLY!
